“Queste sono le corse”.

“Sì, queste sono le corse” ci verrebbe da dire dopo la sfortunata prova di Giorgio a Baltimora. Il fatto è che ci brucia terribilmente averlo visto fuori gara per una colpa non sua. E’ vero, è successo altre volte, ma in Indycar, Giorgio non ha 18 gare per rifarsi; deve dimostrare tutto e subito. Ma per chi ha “occhi per vedere” è bastata la prova si Sonoma per capire quale talento possegga il nostro campione. E qui a Baltimora, in una competizione tanto dura quanto difficile, Giorgio ha dimostrato la tenacia di un mastino. Possiamo ripartire da questo per consolarci del mancato risultato in pista. Ricordiamoci che prima che il sole tramonti, splende e scalda un mondo intero.

Un nuovo circuito cittadino, nella bella città di Baltimora, ha ospitato la 15° prova dell’IZOD Indycar Series. Sin dalle libere, Giorgio e la squadra hanno lavorato per la gara, capendo subito che sarebbe stata lunga e complessa. E difatti i tempi confermavano questa direzione. Purtroppo la qualifica, causa un’uscita in pista un po’ anticipata, non permetteva al padovano di superare la prima fase, e lo costringeva ad un 15 posto sulla griglia di partenza.  Pronti via, e Giorgio si installava in 10 posizione, rimanendo, pur con le gomme dure, a ridosso di chi lo precedeva. Sembrava la tattica di Sonoma, e difatti dopo una ventina di giri il cambio gomme sanciva una tattica tutta protesa per attaccare nella sua seconda metà. Ma come purtroppo a volte accade, non tutti erano d’accordo, ed un incidente al tornantino, lasciava a Giorgio l’amara sorpresa di uno stop inatteso. Il rientro ai box, confermava che non c’erano più possibilità di riprendere la competizione in quanto il danno era irreparabile. Rimaneva l’amarezza per una gara che poteva portare ad un risultato finale molto buono, ma la consapevolezza di aver lavorato tutti insieme in modo proficuo ed organizzato. Quando si lavora bene prima o poi i frutti buoni arrivano.

Giorgio:”Il rammarico per la gara è stato quello di sapere che potenzialmente eravamo messi bene come strategia. La macchina lavorava in modo corretto ed i ragazzi hanno fatto un ottimo lavoro. L’incidente ha vanificato i nostri sforzi e rovinato la possibilità concreta un buon risultato. Ma tutto questo fa parte del gioco, a volte va tutto dritto a volte no. Resta la realtà che il rapporto tecnico ed umano con la squadra continua a migliorare rendendomi fiducioso per il futuro”.

Allora, vedendo i nuovi protagonisti accendere i motori ci richiediamo “come mai lui non c’è ?”, e non troviamo più risposta. Forse le risposte sono già finite; forse nessuno ce le vuole dire; forse è meglio così. Se ci dicessero il vero, troveremmo ancora più assurda la sua esclusione dal grande circo. Proprio lui, nato per esserne un attore principale, nè è fuori. Proviamo a pensare ad Apocalypse Now senza Marlon Brando. Cosa resterebbe : un bel film, di cui però non ne capiremmo il profondo e vero significato. Un’opera senza l’attore principale. Difficile da capire vero ? Eppure è così. In questo freddo inverno guardiamo le sua imprese più importanti per capire se abbiamo sbagliato noi a pensare di sostenere uno tra i più bravi. Iniziando dal kart, proseguendo per Barcellona 2002 e finendo a Silverstone 2008. Perchè lo sentiamo ancora solo noi, il profumo di quell’estivo sabato pomeriggio inglese ? Possibile che sia stato del tutto sovrastato dall’odore dei soldi ? La poesia non è da Formula 1. L’ultimo poeta non c’è più dall’otto di maggio millenovecentottandadue. E credo che sotto il grande tendone non ne vogliano un’altro. Perchè i poeti parlano e pensano, muovono i cuori e gli animi, alterano gli equilibri. A Parigi tanti anni fà un gruppetto di pittori, poveri e bistrattati dalla pomposa critica, trovarono un minuscolo spazio per fare una mostra. Passò quasi innoservata e chi ci andò non capì quella pittura fatta di cose in movimento. La pittura era e doveva essere sempre ferma. Bella, maestosa, ma ferma. Invece quei quattro pittori avevano osato darle un movimento, un’impressione. Qualcuno cominciò ad osservare quelle opere nel profondo e scoprì che il mondo reale non è statico ma sempre in movimento, che l’impressione, non è cosa immobile, me nello spazio del tempo si modifica; come le idee, i pensieri, i sentimenti. Era nato l’impressionismo che cambiò radicalmente il modo di dipingere e di concepire la vita; non più solo bella, ma bella e viva.
